Job Description

The role's primary focus is quality assurance and testing system functionality. Responsibilities also include reviewing business specifications to ensure they are clearly documented and at the appropriate level of detail, as well as assisting with the implementation of dynamically generated insurance documents using Microsoft Word merge tags and conditional Word IF statement logic.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work, problem solving, and contributing to both software quality assurance and document development to help ensure systems and customer-facing documents are accurate, consistent, and professionally presented.
 
What You'll Do
  • Review business and system requirements to understand expected system behaviour and develop testing plans that cover required workflows, business rules, edge cases, and scenarios.
  • Test system functionality to ensure business logic, rating calculations, and user interactions behave according to specifications.
  • Validate dynamically generated documents to ensure data merges correctly and documents are visually consistent and professionally formatted, including fonts, spacing, margins, page breaks, and layout. 
  • Identify, document, and report issues clearly and thoroughly for resolution by the development team. 
  • Review customer-provided specifications and help improve quality, clarity, and completeness. 
  • Assist with the implementation and testing of Microsoft Word document templates using merge tags and conditional Word IF statement logic.
Qualifications
  • Experience testing web-based systems and business workflows.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and develop thorough testing approaches that exercise a wide range of scenarios, edge cases, workflows, and business rule permutations.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills including formatting, merge tags, IF statement logic, and document layout management.
  • Ability to think critically about business processes and identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, or edge-case scenarios.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with formatting consistency including fonts, spacing, margins, page layout, and document presentation quality.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Experience with insurance, financial services, legal, or other document-intensive business environments is considered an asset.
