Job Overview:
The Compliance Officer will manage building violations and regulatory compliance from issuance through resolution. This role also coordinates inspections, hearings, corrective work, agency filings, and contractor activities while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met. The position also manages DOB NOW applications, compliance contracts, records, and reporting, and advises management on inspection readiness and preventative compliance.
Responsibilities - Utilize the SiteCompli.com to manage violations issued by FDNY, DOHMH, DSNY, DOB, and ECB/OATH from receipt through dismissal.
- Proving ECH/OATH attorneys with evidence for hearing on timely basis
- Create work orders in BuildingLink.com to manage and close out repairs & violations
- Review violations, determine corrective scope, deadlines, and required filings.
- Prepare and submit Certificates of Correction, affidavits, and compliance documentation through DOB NOW, FDNY, and other operational systems.
- Coordinate inspections, re-inspections, hearings, and agency follow-ups.
- Oversee corrective work with licensed contractors, engineers, and consultants; verify completion prior to sign-off.
- Track violation status across assigned portfolios and provide regular compliance reports to management.
- Prioritize violations based on severity, financial exposure, and impact on CO/TCO, insurance, or financing.
- Advise the management team on inspection readiness and preventative compliance measures.
- Coordinate plaster and paint jobs
- Maintain compliance logs, calendars, and alerts to ensure deadlines are met
- Track compliance-related contracts (elevator, sprinkler, fire alarm, and backflow systems)
- Manage Department of Buildings job applications (DOB NOW), including filings, approvals, and closures
Experience - 3+ years of experience in building compliance, property management, violation management, or construction administration, preferably in NYC residential or commercial properties.
- Proven experience in NYC residential compliance field of residential property management is a plus
- Knowledge in property management industry
- Experience managing property violations from issuance through correction, hearing, and dismissal.
- Ability to review violations, determine corrective scope, filing requirements, deadlines, and appropriate next steps.
- Strong understanding of building systems and compliance requirements, including elevators, sprinklers, fire alarms, backflow prevention systems, and other life-safety systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate compliance logs, calendars, alerts, documentation, and reporting.
- Familiarity with industry standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties, violations, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM Manila Time
Work Setup: Home-based
