Role Summary We are seeking a mid-level or senior Electrical Design Engineer to work as a dedicated offshore member of our engineering team, supporting projects on Utilities sites.
This role focuses on producing electrical design documentation from defined engineering inputs. It is not a CAD drafting role, not a graduate position, and not suitable for junior engineers.
You will be provided with cable schedules, load schedules, and MCC schematics and will be responsible for developing accurate, consistent electrical design outputs to established standards. All work is reviewed and signed off by senior UK-based engineers.
Core Responsibilities: - Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) from load schedules and distribution information
- Produce Block Wiring Diagrams (BCDs) showing functional relationships between MCCs, motors, field devices, and control systems
- Create Loop Wiring / Hook-Up Diagrams from MCC schematics, I/O data, and cable schedules
- Interpret MCC schematics to derive correct control, termination, and wiring logic
- Ensure consistency across drawings, schedules, and document sets
- Identify missing or conflicting information and raise RFIs (do not guess or invent design)
- Work to company CAD standards, IEC / utilities conventions, and provided symbol libraries
- Collaborate directly with UK-based engineers via Teams/email
Expanding Responsibilities (As the Role Develops) - Prepare and maintain Load Schedules and Instrument Schedules based on project data and agreed design intent
- Support the development of electrical General Arrangement (GA) drawings for panels, MCCs, and plant electrical equipment (not architectural or BIM layouts)
- Perform cable sizing and protection calculations using Trimble / Amtech electrical calculation software, in accordance with project standards
- Support the development of short-circuit, voltage drop, and protective device selection calculations, with final engineering decisions and sign-oA retained by UK-based engineers
- Contribute to other electrical design documentation as required (e.g. design notes, schedules, drawing registers)
- Gradually take on broader design responsibility while final technical authority and approval remain with UK-based engineers

You are not responsible for concept design, client approvals, or site surveys.
Essential Skills & Experience: - Degree or equivalent professional experience in Electrical Engineering
- Mid-level or senior experience only (typically 3+ years) in electrical design for utilities, water, power, or industrial facilities
- Proven experience producing SLDs, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams from schedules and schematics
- Working knowledge of electrical protection and cable sizing calculations, with experience using Trimble / Amtech or similar software
- Strong understanding of:
- LV distribution systems
- MCCs and motor control (DOL, VSD)
- Field instrumentation wiring and marshalling
- Terminal numbering, cable/core identification, screening and earthing
- Ability to interpret engineering data independently and raise RFIs where required
- Proficient in AutoCAD (DWG)
- Comfortable working to IEC / BS / utilities-sector conventions
Not Suitable For: - Junior, graduate, or trainee engineers
- CAD Technicians or Draftsmen
- Building-services-only lighting and power backgrounds
- BIM / Revit-focused roles
- Roles requiring site attendance or surveys
Work Schedule - Monday to Friday (9AM-6PM; Manila time)
Work Setup (WFH) - Permanent Homebased
- Equipment will be provided by the company
