About the Client (US) A minority-owned small business general contractor that serves military, industrial, commercial, and public works clients in the western U.S. CPC's philosophy since opening in 1996 has been to provide quality workmanship at a fair price and protect the safety of its employees. Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, Command Performance carries on a tradition of excellence in construction that dates to 1946.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will prepare take-offs and bid proposals for one of CPC's main business lines, commercial construction. This Quantity Surveyor is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector works projects ranging from $100K - $5M. You will prepare cost estimates alone and as part of a team for construction projects. You will be responsible for takeoffs, document control, cost analysis, and bid proposal preparation.
Responsibilities - Gain thorough understanding of the scope of onsite and offsite concrete construction projects through the plans and specifications or through concept drawings.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, existing site conditions, and other documentation to prepare quantity takeoffs of time, materials, equipment, labor needs and schedule. Must solicit input from field operations and/or COO to include in final project estimate.
- Responsible for overseeing assigned bid proposals and "take off" quantities to verify accuracy of bid estimates. Quantity Surveyor must ensure the bid estimates correspond to the most recent drawings, city standards, and specifications provided by client.
- Analyze alternative solutions, value engineering, and construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid.
- Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Quantity Surveyor is responsible for generating reports for senior management and participating in weekly meetings to report on bid proposals and sales pipeline.
- Work with Chief Operating Officer and owner to develop complete, accurate, and winning bid proposals.
- Provide project engineer support by creating submittals, preparing preconstruction documents for client approval and providing specifications to ensure field team success during construction.
Requirements - Must have at least 7 years' experience performing quantity surveys with advanced knowledge of means and methods and equipment capabilities. Specific experience in these scopes is preferred: site concrete, asphalt paving, earthwork, underground utilities, and roadwork.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably from MAPUA University or Adamson University.
- Must be proficient in estimating software Bluebeam and all MS Products (MS Word, Excel, Power Point), and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must have extensive knowledge in reading plans, details, and specifications. Must Exhibit detail-oriented focus and precision in performing quantity surveys.
- Ability to independently generate estimates and one day lead a team working on quantity surveys.
- Must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Quantity Surveyor must be a clear communicator, organized and a self-starter.
- Preferred Overseas Experience preferably in Hong Kong, Thailand, or Middle East.
Work Schedule (Nightshift) - Monday to Friday (10PM-7AM; Manila Time)
Work Setup (WFH) - Permanent Homebased
