The Role The Senior Automation & AI Engineer will lead the design and implementation of automation systems, AI-powered workflows, and agentic AI solutions across the company.
This role goes beyond traditional automation — you will build intelligent systems and AI agents that can reason, act, and execute tasks autonomously, driving step-change improvements in efficiency and scalability across the business.
You will work directly with leadership to embed AI-first thinking into operations across NZ, AU, and the UK.
Key Responsibilities Automation & Workflow Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation workflows
- Replace manual processes with intelligent systems
- Optimise workflows for performance and reliability
Agentic AI & AI Systems Development
- Design and deploy AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning and execution
- Build agent-based systems and orchestration workflows
- Implement feedback loops to improve performance
AI Model Integration
- Evaluate and deploy AI models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini)
- Build AI-powered workflows across operations, marketing, and reporting
- Develop structured prompting frameworks
Systems Integration
- Integrate CRM platforms (like Monday.com) and workflow tools (Airtable, Make, Zapier)
- Build API integrations, webhooks, and middleware solutions
Software Development
- Develop tools and scripts using Python, JavaScript, or similar
- Build reusable components and internal tooling
Business Process Transformation
- Identify automation opportunities across operations, finance, marketing, and delivery
- Align solutions with business priorities
Documentation & Enablement
- Document systems and workflows
- Develop training materials and upskill teams
Security & Governance
- Ensure data security and compliance
- Apply best practices in system design
Monitoring & Innovation
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
- Stay current with AI and automation advancements
Skills, Experience & Qualifications - Proven experience in automation and system integration
- Strong knowledge of workflow tools and CRM platforms
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
- Experience working with AI models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini)
- Direct experience building agentic AI systems and AI agents
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and ability to work autonomously
Highly Desirable - Experience building multi-agent systems
- AI content generation pipelines (text, image, video)
- API development and integration experience
- Experience in construction or professional services
- Familiarity with embeddings and RAG systems
- Experience mentoring or leading engineers
Work Schedule - Monday - Friday 7AM - 4PM PH Time
