This role is responsible for the full payroll function servicing and actively participate as a member of the Payroll Team. This includes but is not limited to employee change processes, pre & post payroll tasks, payroll reporting,
payroll data validation, facilitating payroll sign-off processes and month-end tasks.
Key Performance Indicators
Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed accurately and within the set deadline.
Ensuring accurate and ongoing maintenance of employee record and system data.
High level of internal & external customer communication and satisfaction.
Maintain good understanding of Industrial Agreements, as well as Statutory obligations pertaining to Payroll.
Ensuring all internal and external payroll reporting and reconciliation are processed accurately and within
the set deadline
Payroll Processing
End to end payroll processing. This includes administration and processing of new starters, change in employee details, superannuation, salary increases, terminations, Workers Compensation weekly benefits
payments, allowances and deductions.
Administration/follow up of fortnightly timesheets.
Assist with reviewing audit reports for each payroll, following up any discrepancies.
Assist with reconciliation of fortnightly payroll reports for accurate data submission via STP.
Administration of Industrial Agreements (Fast Food Industry Award & Restaurant Industry Award) updates as determined by Fair Work Australia.
Payroll Reporting & Other Associated Activities.
Preparation of payroll reports as required.
Management of employee payroll enquiries within the agreed SLA timeframe.
Assist with the reconciliation of annual payroll reports.
Preparation, reconciliation and submission of employee superannuation contribution.
Preparation, reconciliation and submission of PAYG payment.
Preparation, reconciliation and submission of Third-Party payments.
Participate in Payroll system testing for software upgrades as and when appropriate.
Assist with month end payroll accounts reconciliation and reporting as required.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years (or equivalent) demonstrated related experience in a similar position.
Experience with medium tiered payroll systems (Payroll Metrics is advantageous)
Experience with Time and Attendance systems (Human Force is advantageous)
Experience in delivering impeccable customer/stakeholder service.
Qualifications
May have, or be undertaking, a formal qualification in Payroll Management / Accounting or HR.
Knowledge & Skills
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
Strong understanding of Industrial Agreements.
Understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures.
Strong administrative and procedural skills with excellent attention to detail.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
Maturity and confidence to deal with confidential and/or sensitive information.
Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Always conduct themselves with a high level or integrity and professionalism.
