Network & Security Engineer (Homebased)

Job Description

We are seeking a senior-level Network & Security Engineer to take ownership of our FortiGate and UniFi infrastructure across multiple sites. This person will modernize and standardize our firewall policies, improve security, setup proper alerts and support ongoing networking projects. This is a hands-on role that requires deep expertise in networking, security, and documentation.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Review and optimize FortiGate firewall configurations across 7 sites
• Design and manage VPNs, VLANs, firewall policies, and security rules
• Manage UniFi network infrastructure (switches, access points, controller)
• Implement and maintain Auvik or similar network monitoring solutions
• Create detailed network documentation, including topology maps and SOPs
• Provide escalation support for complex network/security issues

  
Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience with network engineering and security
• Strong hands-on knowledge of FortiGate firewalls (VPNs, policies, segmentation)
• Experience with UniFi switches, APs, and controller setup
• Comfortable with CLI, troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, traceroute, etc.)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and domain-integrated networks
• Able to work independently and proactively improve security posture

  
Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with Auvik or other network monitoring platforms
• Familiarity with IT documentation platforms (IT Glue, Confluence)
• Certifications: Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or CCNA/Security

  
Additional Information:

• Homebased, must have at least 25mbps internet connection
• M to F, 11pm to 8am Manila Time
