About the client (UK) We specialize in the Residential, Hotel and Refurbishment Sectors, and have vast experience in the Education, Healthcare and Commercial Sectors. We also have significant experience in Temporary Works and the design of Contractor Services.
The Role A Design Engineer with minimum 5 years’ experience to deliver projects lead by the Company Director & Principal Engineers. The role will require taking full responsibility for successful delivery of detailed design calculations to budget & timescale. The role would ideally suit a candidate who is considering sitting there IStructE Chartership exam in the next 6 months and in-house training can be provided for the right candidates. The position offers top base salaries, working on a portfolio of challenging projects which is suited to an ambitious individual.
Specific Experience, Skills & Knowledge - Preparation of Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Material takes offs, Scopes of Work, Technical reports, Inter discipline design coordination and supervision
- Prepare design calculations, design to wind loads, developing design sketches and pass relevant information to designers as required on assigned projects.
- Liaise with Designers in the preparation of CAD drawings, typically using, Revit, AutoCAD.
- Liaise with other disciplines to accommodate their requirements and with the Design Team in the preparation of structural drawings and details as required by the company Principal Engineer.
- Support development of lessons learnt database
- Ensure all work to be carried out with a positive attitude, both in design and in the company office environment
Duties: - Liaise with multiple stakeholders to ensure project is delivered as required.
- Provide training to inhouse staff as required.
- Provide technical support to our clients.
- Issue of technical drawings and documentation as required.
- Produce compliance documentation.
- Issue of technical details for project delivery.
- Work with CAD/Revit Technicians for production of projects drawings.
- Attend design meetings relevant to the projects being worked on.
- Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines and with staff internally.
- Maintain client contact and ensure that project delivery meets the client’s objectives and requirements.
- Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance with design codes of practice.
- Lead & deliver work design work within timescales and budget.
The successful candidate - Minimum MEng (Hons) University Degree in Structural Engineering from a top University or similar.
- Minimum 5 years’ broad post qualification experience in a competitive working environment.
- Analysis & design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber structures to BS & Eurocode.
- Analysis and Design of foundations & geotechnical structures to BS & Eurocode.
- Analysis and Design using engineering software such as StatiCa, Axis VM FEM Modelling, Tekla Tedds.
- Focused on achieving IStructE chartered status with 6 months of joining the company.
- A client-focused approach with effective time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and effective communicator and problem solver
Work Schedule - Monday to Friday 5PM-2AM (Manila Time)
Work Setup (WFH) - Permanent Homebased
